Harvest Moon Echoes of Teradea Characters: Romance Guide
Who you can marry in Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea — all ten romance candidates, the two protagonists, and what early players say about the cast.

Table of Contents
Echoes of Teradea has ten marriage candidates — five bachelors and five bachelorettes — spread across its four villages, and your protagonist's gender does not restrict who you can marry. Two of those ten are the playable leads themselves: you pick Robert or Carol during setup, and the one you don't pick becomes a candidate in your save, so a single playthrough gives you nine people to choose from.
That roster breakdown comes from the long-running Harvest Moon community guide site Ushi No Tane's Echoes of Teradea preview page, which is where most of the specific names and hometowns below are drawn from. As of 2026-10-16, the official Steam page describes the game's premise and mentions the Harvest Goddess and "the friends you'll meet along the way," but it does not name individual romance candidates.
The ten romance candidates
Bloomfield Village
- Robert and Carol — the two protagonists you choose between at the start. Whichever one you don't play becomes a marriage candidate, the same setup Natsume used in Harvest Moon: Home Sweet Home.
- Jane — a teacher who loves books and wants to visit the university libraries in Maplehill.
Tidewind
- Aaron — responsible and family-oriented; he stepped in to help his mother after his father disappeared years ago following a bad storm at sea.
- Mara — the daughter of the village's head boatman, aiming to become the world's best sailor.
Maplehill Town
- Bryce — from a high-status family, and trying to convince them to let new culture into the traditional town.
- Shirley — she and her bandmates want to bring music to the town's music stage.
- Sergei — an inventor who gets excited researching mysterious phenomena, including the mist over the Forest of Echoes.
Quarrytop Village
- Hank — a treasure hunter and adventurer who wandered into town and never left.
- Lorelei — oversees the mining guild alongside her grandfather.
One practical note carried over from earlier games: Ushi No Tane reports you cannot actually marry until the main story is finished, and since you can't marry your own protagonist, the unchosen lead stays a candidate while your own character is off the table.

The Harvest Goddess and the guardian spirits
The story centers on four guardian spirits of Teradea, and Ushi No Tane describes their seasonal associations as apparent rather than confirmed: the wolf Lupo (Spring), Harvest Sprite Nera (Summer), Harvest Sprite Menus (Fall), and the underworld king Gorgon (Winter). Each seems tied to a Spirit Tree, and restoring them is framed as how the pint-sized Harvest Goddess regains her powers. She travels with you as a companion character throughout the main story.
What early players say about the cast
A first-look gameplay video recorded during early access on Switch 2 is one of the fuller hands-on impressions of the characters so far, and the author is upfront that it covers only the first few hours. Their takeaways:
- The cast of ten candidates leans noticeably older than the genre norm, which the creator counts as a plus.
- Friendship growth automatically reveals a character's likes and dislikes, so you don't spend the game guessing at gifts.
- Friendship events are marked on the map with a music note icon, making it easier to find them without hunting around.
- Early on, the author found the personalities fine but not yet deep, and was holding judgment until later events unlocked.
- Bloomfield Village feels deliberately isolated at the start — roughly ten or so residents by their estimate — with tourists and unnamed NPCs appearing as village development progresses, which they hoped would make towns feel more lived-in later.
Treat the personality read as an early-game impression rather than a verdict on the full cast.

Version notes worth knowing
The Steam release landed on October 14, 2026, per the official Steam page, which also notes the game is marked "Controller Required," lists Xbox and PlayStation controller support, and carries Steam Deck Verified status. Ushi No Tane's preview page lists a North American date of October 15, 2026 and notes the game was originally planned for September 24 before being pushed back, and it lists Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Steam and Xbox Series X|S as platforms. If you're comparing character guides, keep in mind that aggregator pages can lag behind release changes — Game8's Echoes of Teradea article was still showing the older September 24 date when it was last updated in May 2026. The gameplay impressions above come from a Switch 2 early-access build, so how the cast reads on your own platform is something you'll have to judge in your save.
