Harvest Moon Echoes of Teradea Is It a Remake? Answered
No — Echoes of Teradea is a new 2026 Natsume Harvest Moon game, not a remake. Here's why the name feels familiar and what's actually new.

Short answer: no, it's a new game
Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea is a brand-new entry in the Natsume line of Harvest Moon games, not a remake of an older title. The official Steam page lists it as a release dated Oct 14, 2026, developed by Natsume Inc. with IMAGICA GEEQ Inc. and published by Natsume Inc., and that page does not describe the game as a remake as of 2026-10-16. Nintendo's store page for the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition gives its own release date of October 15, 2026 and sells it on a feature list — romance candidates, animal companions, new movement abilities — rather than on restored older content.

Why people keep asking
The "Harvest Moon" name has a split history, and that's the main reason this question comes up. In a first-look playthrough, creator Josh walks through it before starting the game: this is a Harvest Moon by name, but it belongs to a different series from the original Harvest Moon games, which were renamed Story of Seasons in English. He traces Natsume's own line back to Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley on 3DS, and treats everything up to Harvest Moon: A New Beginning as the other lineage. If you stopped playing around that point, a fresh subtitle like Echoes of Teradea can easily read like a remake of something you remember.
Familiar faces reinforce the impression. In the same playthrough the creator points out characters and systems carried over from earlier Natsume titles — Doc, harvest sprites, a tiny Harvest Goddess — and notes that a lot of art assets are reused from previous games in the line. That's continuity between sequels, not a rebuilt older game.
What's actually in it
The publisher's description on the Nintendo store page gives the clearest picture of what's new rather than remade:
- Romance: 10 candidates — 5 bachelors and 5 bachelorettes.
- Animal companions: each with its own ability, used to break obstacles and reach hidden spots.
- Movement: jumping, climbing ladders and scaling vines to reach areas that were previously out of reach.
- Happilia: a resource earned by helping villagers and filling requests, tied to restoring the land.
- Islands: remote islands found by collecting nautical charts, with treasure and rare animals.
- Wilderness risk: wolves, bears, tigers and other wildlife can catch you, costing collected items and sending you back to your farm.
The Steam page tags it Open World, Singleplayer, Farming Sim, RPG and Simulation, and notes that a controller is required.

Release and platform notes
- Steam: $49.99, released Oct 14, 2026, Windows 11 64-bit, 8 GB storage, Steam Deck Verified, 48 Steam achievements, English plus six more interface languages.
- Nintendo Switch 2 Edition: $59.99, release date October 15, 2026, with the Nintendo page listing 4.3 GB on Nintendo Switch and 8.8 GB on Nintendo Switch 2.
- The creator played an early Switch 2 copy sent by Natsume, and in that video he expected the game on PC, Switch, PS5 and Xbox. That was his own recollection before launch rather than a storefront list, so check the platform store directly if you're after a PS5 or Xbox copy.
What a returning player will notice
From the same early playthrough: the game plays like an evolution of the previous Natsume Harvest Moon title, and the creator says he was enjoying it more than that one. He estimated around an hour and a half before the "prologue complete" screen. He also flagged a few things he wasn't sold on — camera stutter on Switch 2 when panning, jumping being limited to specific marked spots, and stamina drain from dashing and from wildlife encounters, which he found tedious rather than tense. His build showed 42 achievements where the Steam page lists 48, which is a normal difference between an early copy and a store page and worth remembering when player numbers don't match.
