Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea has five bachelors: Robert, Aaron, Bryce, Sergei and Hank. Ushi No Tane's preview page for the game sorts them by town — Robert in Bloomfield Village, Aaron in Tidewind, Bryce and Sergei in Maplehill Town, and Hank in Quarrytop Village — and a YouTube walkthrough covering all ten candidates names the same five. The official Steam page describes the story and setting rather than naming candidates, so the roster below comes from community coverage.

Who each bachelor is

Robert is one of the two characters you choose between at game setup. Whichever protagonist you don't pick becomes a marriage candidate, so Robert is the bachelor for players who chose Carol — the same arrangement Ushi No Tane notes was used in Harvest Moon: Home Sweet Home. He's the friends-to-lovers option, and the creator who ranked all ten candidates called him a fairly plain childhood-friend archetype.

Aaron lives in Tidewind. Ushi No Tane describes him as responsible and family oriented: he stepped in to help his mother after his father disappeared in a storm at sea years earlier. One creator adds that his father has been stranded on a remote island, and that reuniting the family is part of Aaron's storyline.

Bryce comes from Maplehill Town's high-status real-estate family. He's the younger son, more open to change than his mother and older brother, and his story revolves around convincing them that new music and art belong in the traditional town.

Sergei is Maplehill Town's inventor, drawn to unexplained phenomena such as the mist covering the Forest of Echoes. Ushi No Tane points out that he effectively fills the eccentric-inventor role that Doc Jr. occupied in earlier games. A creator who covered the full candidate list says his deeper events unlock later in the main story, and that he's fond of talking to cats.

Hank is an outsider in Quarrytop Village — a treasure hunter and adventurer who arrived and never left. Ushi No Tane ties him to the mystery of the Quarrytop Mine, and one creator notes he's the one who helps you sort out the town's problem.

How the candidate system works

  • There are five bachelors and five bachelorettes, ten candidates in total.
  • You can marry any candidate regardless of your protagonist's gender.
  • You can't marry until the game's main story has concluded, so romance is a long-term project alongside the plot.
  • In practice a single save has nine possible spouses: the protagonist you didn't choose is one of the ten candidates, and you can't marry yourself.

What players say about the bachelors

Two creators who played early builds are the main voices here. The first-look gameplay video (recorded on a Nintendo Switch 2 early-access build) notes that the romance cast leans a little older than the usual farming-sim lineup, and highlights two quality-of-life touches: your character automatically learns a villager's likes and dislikes as friendship grows, and friendship events show up on the map behind a music-note icon, so you don't have to hunt for them.

The candidate-ranking video is more opinionated. That creator's favourite is Hank, praised for a distinctive design and a flirtatious, independent streak; their least favourite is the bachelorette Lorelei. Aaron gets high marks for design and personality, with one practical complaint — he often spends time inside Tidewind's paid fishing zone, which the creator says charges 300 gold to enter, making daily visits awkward unless you time his schedule. Bryce's backstory is called interesting while his old-fashioned outfit divides opinion, and Sergei is flagged as a candidate you'll get to know later than the others.

Treat all of that as one player's impressions of a specific build, not a rating. Personality judgements in particular vary a lot between players.

Version and platform notes

The game's Steam page lists a release date of Oct 14, 2026 from Natsume Inc. and IMAGICA GEEQ Inc., while Ushi No Tane's page gives a North American release of October 15, 2026 and covers Switch 1, Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Steam and Xbox Series S/X. The candidate roster is identical across both accounts, and neither ties it to a particular platform. Spellings of some names vary between sources — you'll see both Sergei and Sergey, and both Lorelei and Lorelai.
